IGCSE Physics Tuition

Ms Jenn is an amazing tuition teacher. My Physics grades were only Level 3s and 4s before I started tuition lessons. Though I struggled a lot initially, Ms Jenn has always been very helpful and patient with me. She uses different teaching methods to explain difficult concepts to me until I understand. With her continuous support and guidance, my enjoyment of Physics and motivation to study the subject only grew, and I leaped to a Level 6 in my Prelims. After that, she continued to push me hard and increased the intensity of the lessons so I can do even better. Eventually, I managed to score a Level 7 for the Final IB exam. Thank you Ms Jenn!

Mr Hongyi helped me greatly to improve my knowledge and understanding of key concepts in Physics. His notes served me well and he gave me excellent pointers and tips for understanding and answering questions well. I am very grateful.

Studying during the pandemic had its challenges, but classes in Mindlab were helpful in clearing any doubts and confusion I had surrounding Physics. The online class experience was good and convenient, and nearly as effective as physical lessons.

Mr Hongyi is the best physics teacher I’ve ever come across in both Mindlab and outside Mindlab (e.g school teachers). And despite me having a very difficult time understanding what was going on in the school classes, every time I asked Mr Hongyi to tutor the same unit from his way of teaching, I was able to understand so much better as if it was a completely different subject. Mr Hongyi was always open to any question that I had, and he was always ready to conduct me a class that was best fit for me. He took notes of what we’ve done after every class, and whenever I had an upcoming exam, he was able to prepare me for it within the limited time we had. I also liked the example questions he made during the classes, and I think they helped me by a lot. The support with Internal Assessment was also very helpful. And despite some differences with online classes towards the end of my sessions, he was still able to teach me with no difficulties. Thank you Mr Hongyi!

Having struggled with both physics and lang lit in my first year as an IB student, I quickly turned towards outside help. The Mindlab tutors are unique because they are well-versed in the IB curriculum and have a wealth of resources and experience teaching it. The individual attention I was given every week forced me not only to constantly put in the work required to do well in the IB but also gave me a strong guide to ensure I was constantly improving and given feedback. My physics tutor, Mr Hong Yi, is one of the few physics teachers who is not only extremely comfortable with the curriculum but is also extremely clear in his explanations. I remember being surprised at how much I was picking up in every one of our 1.5 hour lessons. Similarly, Ms Lyn, my language and literature tutor, understands the standards that IB markers expect in our written work, and constantly give me feedback on how to improve my essays, imparting skills and knowledge that have dramatically improved my grades (from a low 5 to a 7). Despite not struggling in math, I decided to take on tuition since I was still unconfident in certain areas. My time with Mr David and Mr Kin Leong has no doubt improved not only my mathematical knowledge but my exam skills as well. I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to my tutors at Mindlab for their constant belief in me and their hard work. I would not have been able to achieve my scores if not for their generous guidance and help.

Mr Enrico was very helpful in strategically tackling my weakest concepts despite the short time we had together. Mr Enrico has been very supportive with guiding me to understand topics by breaking down concepts. Explaining questions I was not able to answer step-by-step helped me point out and clear my misunderstandings. This has been very helpful especially during the final months as it allowed me to focus on key areas I needed to improve on.

Ms Naomi’s classes have been very helpful for me as well. As we reviewed my writing and analysis, she not only suggested ways to enhance the argument, but also introduced new arguments using different approaches that helped establish alternative perspectives. Overall, the quality of my writing noticeably improved compared to the beginning of the course.

Mr Jiabin’s lessons were quite helpful in general, helping me improve my past paper skills and exam knowledge. He is very patient and fun to have as a teacher. Thank you.

Felt all the tutors were all so dedicated and for the short period of time, they were able to prep T. to sit for his IGCSE exams. I’m pleased that I found Mindlab. Mr Hanyu breaks down complex topics into simple terms to help me understand better. He also takes the time to address my specific weaknesses and concerns.

Given that I only started classes with Mr. Hanyu in July with exams in November and was failing my class, Mr. Hanyu worked diligently to identify my weaknesses quickly and planned lessons around helping me to gain confidence in these weak spots in my learning. His lessons were concise and had a good balance between teaching and practice, so that I could apply what he taught me in real time to ensure my understanding. I am very grateful for the time and effort Mr. Hanyu put into me to adequately prepare me for my IBDP examinations, which resulted in a 3 point jump from 4 to 7 in just 4 months.

Mr. Enrico has been pivotal in my success in physics. When I began learning under his guidance in Grade 9, I was struggling with the subject and consistently achieving E grades. However, through his exceptional teaching and unwavering support, I was able to progress steadily and ultimately achieve an A* in my IGCSE exams.
