We talk a lot about academics here at Mindlab—but every great tutor has a personal rhythm, a mood, and (let’s be honest) a guilty pleasure or two in their playlist.
So we did a Mindlab Soundcheck.
We asked: “What are the last five songs you played?”
The answers? A whirlwind of nostalgia, pop bangers, introspective anthems, and playlist curveballs that prove one thing: our tutors are as wonderfully varied in taste as they are in teaching style.

The Anthem Architect (Ms Divya)
🚀 Playlist = fuel. With the energy of a coach and the insight of a motivator, Ms Divya picks songs that remind you of your “why”—and gets you sprinting toward it.
- Imagine Dragons – Thunder
- All We Are – Richello
- Taylor Swift – Blank Space
- Eminem – Lose Yourself
- Imagine Dragons – Believer
“These songs keep me going—whether it’s lesson prep or just life.”

The Empowered Pop Curator (Ms Lyn)
💅 Every track is a statement, every chorus a declaration. She builds playlists like battle speeches—with glitter, groove, and just the right amount of drama.
- Breakaway – Kelly Clarkson
- Messy – Lola Young
- Die with a Smile – Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars
- Too Sweet – Hozier
- Espresso – Sabrina Carpenter
These songs hit different when you’re marking late at night with a cup of something coffee.

The Slow-Jam Scholar (Mr Jining)
🎙 Master of melody and memory, Jining’s selections are dipped in nostalgia and slow-burn soul. His playlist could easily double as the soundtrack to a late-night confession scene.
- Ariana Grande – Stuck With You
- Daniel Caesar – Best Part
- Michael Jackson – Billie Jean
- Alicia Keys – If I Ain’t Got You
- Wiz Khalifa – See You Again
Romantic, retro, and real— Mr Jining’s playlist is pure heart.

The High-Voltage Pop Precisionist (Mr Sean)
🔊 A master of the sonic hype cycle. Expect tight hooks, bright synths, and rhythms that don’t quit. Mr Sean doesn’t just listen to music—he uses it.
- Doja Cat – Woman
- Britney Spears – Womanizer
- J Balvin – Mi Gente
- Ava Max – Choose Your Fighter
- Sabrina Carpenter – Espresso
These are tracks with bounce, boldness, and just the right dose of chaos. Call it controlled high-energy—they keep Mr Sean sharp and on his game.

The Expecting Dreamer (Ms Ain)
🌙 Ms Ain’s pick feels like dreams wrapped in stardust. Currently soundtracking one of life’s most beautiful chapters.
“I usually play instrumental pieces or movie scores in the background. Music for me is more about setting a mood than anything else.”
But lately?
“Pretty Little Baby” by Connie Francis has been living rent-free in my head.”
“I stumbled across it while scrolling through baby stuff, pregnancy tips, and labor advice. I know the lyrics are all about young love, but somehow it makes me even more excited to meet my own little bundle of joy soon!” 💛
Sounds like: Gentle joy. Feels like: A lullaby for the future.

The Multiverse Playlist Pilgrim (Mr Cedric)
🌀 No genre left behind. From soundtrack deep-cuts to disco-funk chaos, Mr Cedric’s library spans timelines, galaxies, and alternate dimensions on shuffle.
- Hazbin Hotel Soundtrack – Hell’s Greatest Dad
- Cheap Trick – Surrender
- Guns N’ Roses – Sweet Child O’ Mine
- Ween – Ocean Man
- Boney M – Rasputin (Club Mix)
“Unexpected? Yes. Unapologetic? Always.”

🌅 A master of emotional gradients. Ms Michelle builds playlists like movie montages—layered, vibey, and always with perfect transitions. Expect to feel things!
- Lean On – Major Lazer, DJ Snake
- Summertime Magic – Childish Gambino
- Focus – H.E.R.
- Cynthia Erivo – September (cover)
- Usher – NPR Tiny Desk Concert
A playlist that moves between eras and emotions with grace.
